Traveling to the Fiji Islands? Cash vs credit cards? Liquor Store?

August 17, 2013 · Print This Article

First of all - congratulations! You must be getting so excited! Yes! The Fiji Islands accept USD.  I suggest bringing a few hundred U.S. dollars to be exchanged at Nadi Airport.  Here’s how you do it: After clearing Customs and Immigrations, pick up your luggage on the carousels.

By the way, this is where there is a Duty Free Liquor Store across from the carousels that will be open, pick up a few bottles of good New Zealand wine for approx $20.00 USD per bottle to enjoy on you lanai.  Note: If you are scheduled to fly on a helicopter or seaplane don’t buy too many bottles because there are definite weight restrictions!

Sorry, sidetracked, ok so after you walk out the door, Rosies Travel Service will be waiting for you holding a sign with your names on it. On the left you will see a bank, walk up and exchange the money for Fiji dollars which will give you approx. $160.00 FJD but just to let you know, the resorts all take credit cards.
