island star sailingAloha and mahalo for visiting my website!

My name is Teresa Nelle, I am a Travel Agent with 20 years of experience and I am passionate about assisting my Clients with their travel requests to exotic and unique destinations. I love to travel and when I work with a Client, I feel like I am planning my own personal holiday - its fun and exciting - then I love to hear about how their trip was when they return!

I am the Owner of Luxury Hideaways which is affiliated with Park Avenue Travel, a Virtuoso Agency. I have lived on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii for 20 years so obviously I am a Hawaii Specialist! I love living here and enjoy sharing my “kama’aiana” knowledge with my Clients! I have traveled extensively thru the South Pacific, having visiting the Fiji Islands 5 times as well as Australia & New Zealand. I have also sent many Clients to the Cook Islands, Samoa and as well as the islands of Tahiti.

HAWAII LESSON: Kama’aina is the Hawaiian language word for long-term resident of the Hawaiian Islands. It derives from the words ‘kama’, meaning ‘child’, and ‘aina’, meaning ‘land’.

The South Pacific is at the top of my list of travel destinations. I hope you enjoy visiting this site and do return to keep up with whats new and happening. Please also visit www.LuxuryHideaways.net.  On both sites you will find happy love letters from my past Clients.  I also have www.OnlyCruisesTravel.com highlighting small ship cruises around the world.

Last year I spent a month in Europe where I fell in love with the city of Rome ItalyRome, enjoyed a private walking tour of all things Rome (which I highly recommend), visited the ancient site of Pompeii with a Tour Guide from the Archeological Society of Pompeii as well as cruised the Mediterranean on a Windstar cruises, (which is a small cruise ship company) and visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre. Feel free to contact me about European travel as I just sent a family to the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain where they had their own private balconey in the shade!

My life motto is a wonderful saying by Mark Twain:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

See you in paradise!

Forbes.com Ranks Fiji in Top 15 Affordable Holidays for U.S. Travelers

June 25, 2009

Fiji Kava bowlThe Fiji Islands have been rated among the top 15 cheapest countries for American travelers during the current severe recession in the US financial market. “Fiji is one of the many places that is suddenly become more affordable to American travelers” according to America’s Forbes.com. A recent 20% devaluation of the Fiji dollar coupled with a 40% gain by the greenback means that $USD100 currently buys $FJD210 on the ground. Tourism Fiji Regional Director Ili Matatolu welcomed the rating and hoped that Americans will take advantage of this opportunity in 2009 and get fantastic deals on Fiji.

In another article travel to Fiji is now even more affordable than ever from Honolulu, LAX and Vancouver with “Go to Fiji Now” Bula Special Rates offered by Air Pacific, Fiji’s international airline. Roundtrip airfare from Honolulu and LAX to Nadi starts at US$565, valid for sale until June 30, 2009 for travel thru December 31, 2009. (Air Pacific Booking Code N)

Thank you for planning our amazing honeymoon in the Fiji Islands

April 19, 2009

Hi Teresa,
I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in the Fiji Islands! We loved every minute of it. Both resorts are awesome! We liked Navutu Stars the best, but Qamea Resort & Spa is fabulous too. It was nice to see two different sides of the islands.

Thanks again for all your help in planning our amazing honeymoon!

Outstanding Personalized Service in our Honeymoon planning!

March 30, 2009

Bula bula Teresa!

You provided my wife and I with outstanding personalized service in preparing our trip (that due to unexpected wedding budget overruns, we were unfortunately unable to take at that time). It was so outstanding that when my friend Mike B said that he was planning his honeymoon to Fiji, I told him that he MUST contact you to plan a trip.

My wife and I still plan on getting to the Fiji islands within the next 2 years, and I promise that you will be the first person that we contact for travel reservations and trip planning.

Aloha Teresa!

Bryan McN!

Fafa Island Resort, Kingdom of Tonga, South Pacific & S.V. Seastar

January 20, 2009

Fafa island resortI’ve discovered an exciting new resort and yacht charter company located in the Kingdom of Tonga. To fly to Tonga, you need to fly to the Fiji Islands then catch a connecting flight to the islands of Tonga.

Last summer some of my best/favorite clients spent a week on Fafa-Island Resort, Nuku’alofa, Kingdom Of Tonga, South Pacific and checked out the yacht S.V. Seastar for me.

Here is their report:

Fafa Island was beautiful and gave us the same feeling as we had in Matamanoa Island, Fiji. The kids really enjoyed it too and I’m so glad we went ahead with the trip.

I would definitely recommend the resort. It was so peaceful and beautiful and had all the comforts we needed. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. You are best to be on the meal plan. The outdoor bathrooms were amazing and very easy to feel comfortable with as they were very private from other guests. Most of the staff were Fijian, so you know that means they were warm, friendly and fun to talk to.
