Fafa Island Resort, Kingdom of Tonga, South Pacific
January 28, 2009
Traveling to Fafa Island Resort, Kingdom of Tonga is just hard enough where you do not get the everyday tourist looking for a maitai. However you will be rewarded with beautifully empty white sand beaches, amazing snorkeling and friendly people.
On your arrival to Tongatapu, you will be transferred to Nuku’alofa for a 30 minute launch to the coral island of Fafa. You will spend your time enjoying Fafa Island, with its lush tropical gardens and untouched island vegetation, Fafa Island is a true Robinson Crusoe adventure. There are a variety activities including water sports, excursions to other deserted islands or simply laze in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree.
A maximum of 26 guests stay in traditional Tongan style Fales all facing the beach. The Bungalows are built
with natural materials: palm poles, wooden shingles, coconut thatch and palm timber floors. The Luxury and Superior Fales are just a few steps from the waters edge with unobstructed views of the ocean, each with its private beach and they are provided with maximum privacy as they are set far apart from each other.
All Fales have a courtyard with semi open bathroom and the shower in a private flower garden. A covered veranda, spacious bedrooms with king size beds, dressing room, ceiling fan, hammock and beach beds. Some Luxury bungalows have an extra building containing the bathroom, a walk in wardrobe and extra room for 2 beds, plus a large partly covered veranda with comfortable deck chairs.
Dine under the stars in the open air restaurant on the beach or indoors in the traditional thatched Fale. Fafa cuisine is famous for its unique contemporary pacific European gourmet dishes.

Fafa Island Resort, Kingdom of Tonga, South Pacific & S.V. Seastar
January 20, 2009
I’ve discovered an exciting new resort and yacht charter company located in the Kingdom of Tonga. To fly to Tonga, you need to fly to the Fiji Islands then catch a connecting flight to the islands of Tonga.
Last summer some of my best/favorite clients spent a week on Fafa-Island Resort, Nuku’alofa, Kingdom Of Tonga, South Pacific and checked out the yacht S.V. Seastar for me.
Here is their report:
Fafa Island was beautiful and gave us the same feeling as we had in Matamanoa Island, Fiji. The kids really enjoyed it too and I’m so glad we went ahead with the trip.
I would definitely recommend the resort. It was so peaceful and beautiful and had all the comforts we needed. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. You are best to be on the meal plan. The outdoor bathrooms were amazing and very easy to feel comfortable with as they were very private from other guests. Most of the staff were Fijian, so you know that means they were warm, friendly and fun to talk to.
