Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Nukubati Island Resort on my 5th trip to Fiji. Upon arrival I realized I have really been missing the boat in not visiting this little island paradise sooner. Nukubati achieves the essence of true authentic Fijian hospitality. The owner, Jenny was born and raised in the area, traveled to Australia for her advanced education, met and married her husband and the two of them returned to her roots to raise their children and open Nukubati Island Resort.
Nukubati, is a small, private, luxury island situated inside the Great Sea Reef, off the north coast of Vanua Levu in the Fiji Islands.
Nukubati has four spacious beachside bungalow suites and three deluxe honeymoon bures. The rooms are louvred, light and airy, with ceiling fans and are decorated in a style reminiscent of Fiji’s gracious colonial past. The rattan furniture is custom made to the traditional designs of the old plantation days.
The Fijian staff cater and care for you during your entire visit - the food is outstanding! It’s a blend of local recipes with a twist to satisfy any palette. If you have specific requests, feel free to let them know in advance so the Chef will be ready upon your arrival to the resort.
Your sea Captain and Dive Instuctor, Allen was raised on the reef. There are 7 bures and 7 boats - so plenty of adventure opportunities for everyone.
Nukubati Island caters to both the romantic couples as well as the ones looking for a little adventure in their holiday.
Nukubati was environmentally friendly PRIOR to it being in style! Everyone should take a
lesson from Nukubati -
“When developing the resort in 1990, we were determined to be at the forefront of sustainable and ecologically responsible development. We are mindful of our impact on the local environment and have instigated a series of sound environmental systems on the island.”
*Nukubati produces its own electricity with one of the largest solar power plants in the South Pacific islands. From an array of 300 solar panels and four wind generators, Nukubati can generate over 10 Kilowatts of electricity from the sun and wind every day.
*Fresh water is collected rainwater, filtered and UV treated.
*Hot water is produced from ten solar water heaters.
*Sewerage is tertiary treated using natural bio-cycle systems with the refreshed waste water being used on our gardens.
*Nukubati grows its own organic vegetables and fruits, using tropical permaculture techniques.

Teresa!
Jim and I cannot thank you enough for all your hard work and patience with our particular situation. This past year has been extremely hard on us and our family… I thought engagements were filled with love and excitement, and with the expected stress of what linens and centerpieces to choose?!?! Little did we know…
Anyhow, we can’t thank you enough for taking time out of your holiday weekend last week to help us plan (or should I say, “re-plan”) our honeymoon trip of a lifetime!! You devoted so much time, effort, and emails/phone calls back and forth… With all the chaos in the past year, you are truly a breathe of fresh air, with your kindness and interest in making our honeymoon a trip to remember!!
We plan on traveling internationally once a year; you are our #1 travel gal, so you’ll be hearing from us soon! Thanks again for everything!
