Dear Teresa,

MaryAnn and I want let you know that we had a wonderful time on our honeymoon. This was due to all of your planning. We cannot thank you enough for all that you had done for us. Thank you for the delicious chocolate covered strawberries. We will be in contact with you to help plan our next trip to Australia/New Zealand or Hawaii.
Thank You
Armand Cilento

mamas fishhouseWhile Armand & MaryAnn were on island, I met them for a day cruising upcountry. One of the highlights was having lunch at the world famous Mamas Fishhouse located just outside Paia.  Mamas decor reflects an authentic island lifestyle of days gone by.

My favorite tour around Maui is to head up the highway toward Haleakala Crater. Stop at Kula Lodge for a cool drink and to take in the panoramic view of the island.  If its the weekend, be sure to order the wood fired pizza - its the best on the island.  After snacking on your pizza, turn around, cruise back down the hill but this time take the scenic route on the backroads.  The drive will take you into the town of Makawao (for great shopping) then continue down Baldwin Avenue & you’ll run right into the town of Paia.  Turn right at the end of the road (and only stoplight in town), drive about a mile and you will be at Mamas Fishhouse.

If you continue on just a few more blocks, you’ll be treated to watching the worldclass windsurfers practice at Ho’okipa Beach.  Work up an appetite watching the colorful aerobatics performed by the windsurfers prior to stopping off at Mamas to cool off with a maitai.  This is a great daytrip to plan for the day after you get too much sun at the beach or if  you are cruising around Maui and have just a few days on the island!

A hui ho, til next time,
